The Exchange’ excavation application approved
The development permit for the excavation of the Mercury House project was unanimously approved by the MEPA board this morning. The Mercury House site, now known as ‘The Exchange’, is set to become a financial and business centre which forms part of the Pender Ville development based in St. Julian’s. ‘The Exchange’ is specifically designed to cater for financial services operators, with FIMBANK already contracted to be the first financial institution to acquire space for their global Head Quarters. “We are very pleased that the MEPA board unanimously approved this application,” said Pender Ville chairman Mr. Edmund Gatt Baldacchino, “With ‘The Exchange’ we aim to provide state of the art custom made offices together with retail and commercial facilities surrounded with ample public open spaces” Mr. Gatt Baldacchino concluded by saying that “With this permit another significant milestone has been achieved towards the realisation of a major project which will undoubtedly contribute to upgrading this part of St. Julian’s.”
